Morocco and Nigeria Leaders Reaffirm Commitment to Gas Pipeline Project

King Mohammed VI spoke by telephone on Sunday, January 31, with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari. On the agenda of the discussions: the strategic projects between the two countries, particularly the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline and the creation of a fertilizer production plant in Nigeria.
During this conversation, the two heads of state welcomed the positive momentum in bilateral relations in all areas, since the royal visit to Nigeria in December 2016 and that of President Buhari to the kingdom in June 2018, indicates the royal cabinet in a press release.
King Mohammed VI and President Muhammadu Buhari expressed their joint determination to pursue and concretize, as soon as possible, the strategic projects between the two countries, particularly the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline and the creation of a fertilizer production plant in Nigeria, specifies the same source.
President Buhari thanked the sovereign for the kingdom’s supportive solidarity in the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, in particular through the training of Nigerian Imams at the Mohammed VI Institute for the Training of Imams, Morchidines and Morchidates, concludes the press release.
