Morocco and Italy Conduct Joint Naval Exercise Near Tangier, Bolstering Maritime Security Cooperation

The Royal Moroccan Navy and the Italian Navy recently conducted a joint naval exercise off the coast of Tangier, a sign of the excellent cooperation between the two countries in the field of maritime security.
This joint naval exercise between the Moroccan and Italian navies took place off the coast of Tangier, indicates the Far-Maroc forum in a post on its Facebook page.
"After the Strait of Gibraltar, the San Marco ship is currently engaged in training activities with the forces of the Royal Moroccan Navy, off the coast of Tangier. In a few days, it will join the Margottini ship for the Littoral Expeditionary Group (LEG23) in the northern European seas," the Italian Navy also tweeted.
The joint exercise between the two navies consisted of tactical maneuvers, communication exercises and crisis scenario simulations. It allowed the Moroccan and Italian navies to share their knowledge and techniques and to strengthen their common capabilities in order to effectively deal with any emergency situations at sea.
These maneuvers also allowed the two countries to strengthen their cooperation in the field of maritime security and the fight against piracy, drug trafficking and smuggling, knowing that Tangier is a hub for maritime traffic between Europe and Africa.
