Morocco and Israel to Integrate Cultural Heritage in School Curricula

The Minister of National Education and Vocational Training, Saaïd Amzazi, had a telephone conversation on Wednesday evening with his Israeli counterpart, Yoav Galant. The two officials agreed to set up exchange programs for students from both countries.
Several partnership agreements have been signed since the resumption of relations between Morocco and Israel. The latest one concerns the education sector, where the two states have committed to including their historical and cultural heritage in school curricula.
The initiative is not new, as even before normalizing its relations with the Hebrew State, Morocco had reformed the primary school curriculum by introducing the history and culture of Judeo-Moroccans.
The initiative was welcomed by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its Facebook page, Israël Arabic: "Israel thanks Morocco for the decision to include the Jewish heritage in the Moroccan school curriculum and announces that the school curriculum in Israel will integrate subjects on the Jewish community in Morocco."
This growing interest in Judeo-Moroccan heritage has led to the development of exchange programs for Moroccan and Israeli students and the establishment of an educational dynamic between the two societies. For Yoav Galant, education is the most peaceful solution to ensure solid relations between nations.
