Morocco and India in Talks for Joint Military Vehicle Production

Advanced negotiations are underway with Indian companies for the local production in Morocco of armored vehicles for the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces and the armies of other African countries, said Moroccan Minister of Investment, Mohsen Jazouli, during an official visit to India.
Morocco is in talks with India to reach an agreement that would allow the local manufacture of military vehicles, announced Minister Jazouli, adding that the two countries have strengthened their military cooperation in recent years. It is in this context that the Indian manufacturer TATA Advanced Systems supplied the Moroccan army with LPTA-715 tactical military transport trucks in 2022 and 90 Tata LPTA 2445 6x6 tactical transport trucks at the beginning of this year, reports Defensa.
The main advantage for Morocco in buying weapons from Indian companies is the value for money. Indian military equipment is available at competitive prices. Over the past three years, Morocco and India have signed several cooperation agreements in various fields such as cybersecurity, space technology, infrastructure development and joint financing of defense projects and industries.
