Morocco and France Caution Ex-Senegal President Sall Against Political Interference

Morocco and France are said to have warned former Senegalese President Macky Sall against any interference in the political affairs of his country.
Moroccan and French officials do not want to alienate the new Senegalese authorities. They have reacted to the recent calls for mobilization by former Senegalese President Macky Sall addressed to members of the "Alliance for the Republic" party and the "United for Hope" coalition, explicitly asking him not to interfere in the political affairs of his country, reports the magazine Wal Fadjri and the Senegalese website Sene News.
After handing over power to his successor Bassirou Diomaye Faye on April 2nd, Macky Sall has settled in Morocco with his family. In Marrakech, he is dedicated to his new activities, including his mission as a special envoy of the Paris Pact for People and Planet (4P). "In this capacity, he has an obligation of reserve. Furthermore, the fact that he resides in Morocco requires him not to speak publicly about Senegalese political issues. His interference in national political life risks embarrassing these two countries vis-à-vis Senegal," said a source at Wal Fadjri.
