Morocco Allows Home Care for Asymptomatic COVID-19 Patients, Health Ministry Announces

Asymptomatic patients with coronavirus can be treated and cared for at home. The announcement was made by the coordinator of the National Public Health Emergency Operations Center at the Ministry of Health, Mouad Mrabet, on Tuesday, during the weekly statement on the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom.
This protocol only concerns asymptomatic cases that do not present any clinical signs and meet certain conditions, such as "advanced age, chronic diseases, pregnancy or breastfeeding," he specified. In addition to these conditions, the eligible person must be able to be in conditions that allow him to "isolate for a minimum of 14 days".
This means "an individual, ventilated room and the absence of vulnerable people living under the same roof". But before that, the patient must sign an affidavit, in which he undertakes to "respect the confinement and the instructions put in place by the local and health authorities".
The coordinator noted that Morocco carried out 154,774 screening tests last week. And according to the latest statistics, "Morocco ranks 58th worldwide and 6th on the African continent in terms of the number of infection cases". He finally invited citizens to "keep the protective masks in cafes and restaurants and remove them only to eat or drink, while respecting physical distancing," the same source said.
