Morocco Aims to Revitalize Tourism Sector in 2022 Amid Pandemic Recovery

Reviving the tourism industry, which has been sluggish for two years in Morocco. This is the objective set by tourism professionals who are sharpening their weapons as part of collective efforts to relaunch the sector in 2022.
To maintain the desire to visit Morocco and refine the marketing assets for next year, pending the easing of travel restrictions imposed by Covid-19, tourism stakeholders are already getting ready, reports Aujourd’hui le Maroc.
Taking advantage of the celebration of World Tourism Day, the newspaper took stock of the sector in the kingdom and the prospects of professionals who, visibly, are reflecting on a sustainable relaunch.
To this end, these players welcome the improvement in the epidemiological situation in Morocco, the easing of travel in European countries and even the resumption of economic activities in several parts of the world.
In its reflections, the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has undertaken a complete change in its operational model, with an ambitious strategy aimed at initiating the relaunch of the tourism sector in 2022.
For its part, the CNT has been revamped, focusing on interactions with the professional and institutional ecosystem through a specific platform. In order to participate in the national dynamic, it aims to finalize the procedures between the departments of tourism, finance and the General Directorate of Local Authorities for the deferral of the payment of local taxes and professional tax from January 2022.
It also aims to request the extension of the program contract until December 31, 2021, or the implementation of an offensive recovery plan by activity segment and the signing of a new program contract for the 2022-2024 period, the same source points out.
