Morocco Aims for Olympic Knockout Stage in Must-Win Match Against Iraq
Morocco faces Iraq on Tuesday in Nice as part of the third and final day of the group stage of the Paris Olympic Games. The goal, win the victory and move on to the round of 16.
"We must learn from the mistakes of the match against Ukraine and prepare well for the match against Iraq. We want to make the Moroccan public happy," Tarik Sektioui said on Monday at the pre-match press conference against Iraq. And he added: "The four teams are level on points, it’s as if we were starting from scratch. The match will be difficult for both teams, but our goal is to win."
After two matches, including a victory against Argentina (2-1) and a defeat against Ukraine (1-2), the Atlas Cubs have gained experience in the Olympic tournament and must draw all the necessary lessons from it, insisted the coach of the Moroccan Olympic team. Sektioui did not fail to thank the Moroccan public for their constant support, assuring that Achraf Hakimi and his teammates will do their utmost to qualify for the round of 16.
Morocco will cross swords with Iraq on Tuesday at the Allianz Riviera stadium in Nice at 4pm Moroccan time and 5pm French time as part of the third and final day of Group B. The match will be broadcast live on the Arryadia and beIN Sports HD 1 channels.
