Morocco’s Agriculture Minister Refutes Claims of Pesticide Contamination in Mint Crops

The Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Aziz Akhannouch, is outraged by the allegations that claim that any "mouse medicine" would be in Moroccan mint.
Speaking on Tuesday before the Finance Control Committee of the House of Representatives, the minister, accompanied by the Director General of the National Office of Food Safety (ONSSA), specified that he is ready for any contradictory debate on this subject.
According to him, a number of mint fields have already been burned based on the reports of the ministry’s monitoring committees, which are always available to carry out additional analyzes. The member of the government also assures that his department is willing to destroy all other mint fields that do not comply with the current health standards.
