Morocco Addresses Over 1,300 Expatriate Complaints in 2024, Minister Reports

Nasser Bourita assured that his department pays special attention to complaints from Moroccans around the world.
Speaking on Tuesday during the oral questions session at the Council of Advisors, Bourita stated that 1,345 complaints and requests from MREs via the "chikaya.ma" portal were processed by his ministry in 2024. These MRE complaints are mainly related to consular services, civil and personal status, civil and criminal aspects, and social, economic or financial issues.
The ministry in charge of Moroccans residing abroad treats all these requests seriously, in coordination with the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad and the Ombudsman Institution, the minister maintained, emphasizing the importance of digitizing consular services to make life easier for MREs.
The ministry is working on implementing these e-consular services, in accordance with the Royal High Instructions aimed at strengthening the ties between Moroccans around the world and their country of origin, he concluded.
