Morocco Acquires Israeli SpyX Drones, Raising Concerns in Spain

Morocco has just equipped the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) with the Israeli suicide drone SpyX, with an operational range of 50 kilometers, largely sufficient to cross the strait. This worries Spain.
Spain has been closely monitoring Morocco’s military acquisitions for a few years now. The latest acquisition made by Morocco that worries the Spanish military authorities is the Israeli suicide drone SpyX, reports Ok Diario. Described as "deadly" by its manufacturer, the Israeli company BlueBird, these drones have an effective range of 50 kilometers, sufficient to reach the province of Cadiz.
The SpyX is equipped with an "autonomous electro-optical guided attack system" and can be connected to another drone model from the same manufacturer that flies nearby. "This innovative technology brings more precision and efficiency on the battlefield," explains the manufacturer, stating that the SpyX allows "to detect, confirm and hit targets."
"SpyX is a game-changer in the field of military drone platforms. SpyX not only enhances situational awareness and enables precise and effective strikes, but also revolutionizes tactical superiority on the battlefield," said Ronen Nadir, CEO of BlueBird Aero Systems, during the presentation of the system.
In recent years, especially since the normalization of their relations in December 2020, Morocco has acquired several Israeli defense systems. The two countries have strengthened their military cooperation, allowing Rabat to acquire Heron or Hermes 900 drones, Harop suicide drones, or a group of Spike anti-tank missiles, the Barak MX anti-missile systems, etc.
