Moroccans Wait for Royal Convoy, Hoping to Share Grievances with King Mohammed VI

Many Moroccans spend their day watching the royal convoy in the hope of meeting King Mohammed VI and conveying their grievances. They are nicknamed the "Smayria".
The objective of the "Smayria" is not to see the sovereign up close, or to take a souvenir photo with him, but to be able to convey their grievances to him, reports the daily Assabah, specifying that there are two types of "Smayria". There are those who watch the king during official activities, and others who prefer to watch him during his private outings.
These "Smayria" almost always carry their grievances written in a letter, in the hope of being able to pass it on to the king one day. These are generally requests for intervention to find a job, obtain a transport permit, help people with special needs or release a file.
To achieve their goal, the "Smayria" put in place plans and stratagems. They inquire about the places recently visited by the king, then watch the royal convoy in these places. They can spend the whole day there, pacing back and forth, to circumvent the security devices.
Others do not hesitate to do odd jobs in the streets where the king’s passage is expected. For the "Smayria", all means are good to achieve their goal. They are willing to take significant risks.
