Are Moroccans unhappy?

Morocco has dropped seven places in the 2024 World Happiness Ranking, now ranking 107th, according to the report published by the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network on the occasion of the World Happiness Day.
With a score of 4.795 points, the Kingdom finds itself behind Libya (66th) and Algeria (86th), which occupy the first and second places respectively in the Maghreb and Africa. Mauritania and Tunisia are ranked 111th and 115th respectively.
Despite its political and security crisis, Libya is therefore at the top of the ranking of the happiest Arab countries, followed by the United Arab Emirates (22nd) and Saudi Arabia (28th).
Globally, it is Finland that leads the ranking with a score of 7.741 points, closely followed by Denmark and Iceland. Sweden ranks fourth, while the United States of America drops out of the top 20 for the first time since 2012, ranking 23rd. Afghanistan brings up the rear of the ranking (143rd).
