Moroccan YouTuber’s Trial Delayed Again Over Health Concerns

The court of first instance of Témara has once again decided to postpone the trial of YouTuber Fatiha and her husband, who have been prosecuted since October 7 for indecent assault.
At the opening of the hearing this Wednesday, the defense lawyer asked that his client be allowed to consult a doctor for health reasons. According to the latter, the YouTuber suffers from a "mental illness" and her condition requires treatment to which she does not have access in prison. She would have submitted the request several times to the director of the penitentiary institution without success.
This week again, lawyer Bouchaib Essoufi asked the judge for the provisional release of his clients for the well-being of their three minor children. He highlighted the difficult situation of the latter who should not have to pay for the faults of their parents. Last week, the judge had ordered that the three children be placed under the guardianship of their aunt. But for the lawyer, this will cause serious harm to them. "In what psychological state will these children be able to join another school in another city?", he declared.
The deputy prosecutor considers that the defense paints too dark a picture of the situation. He points out that currently the best thing that can happen to the children is to stay with their aunt and that they are in "good conditions". After rejecting the request for provisional release, the court announced the postponement of the trial for next week.
Fatiha and her husband risk a lot in this case, since the investigations carried out have proven that the blogger has, intentionally, filmed "indecent scenes" at her home and would have proceeded to their dissemination on the YouTube platform. Videos that have provoked strong reactions on social networks. They were arrested on October 7 by the Témara police brigade.
