Moroccan YouTuber Appeals Prison Sentence for Criticizing King Mohammed VI

The trial of Mohamed Sekkaki, alias Moul Kaskita, begins on Tuesday, February 11 before the court of appeal of the city of Settat. His lawyers had filed an appeal against his first judgment, for which he had been sentenced to four years in prison and a fine of 40,000 dirhams by the court of first instance of Settat.
Moul Kaskita’s troubles began after he posted a video "insulting the King" and making "public insults against individuals" on his YouTube channel.
Indeed, in a twelve-minute sequence, the YouTuber attacks Mohammed VI, whose speeches, according to him, are "followed by no result", while Moroccans "suffer from clientelism and nepotism".
He will drive the point home by calling his compatriots "donkeys" and "ignorant", who "see their rights trampled without a word".
