Moroccan UN Worker Injured in Beirut Port Explosion

The Moroccan embassy in Lebanon states that a Moroccan woman was injured in the two powerful explosions that occurred on Tuesday, August 4, 2020, in Beirut.
In a statement, the embassy said that it is an international civil servant working with the United Nations in Beirut. She suffered fractures to her foot and is receiving care in a hospital, the Moroccan diplomatic representation assures.
Earlier, the embassy had issued a statement to indicate that it had not yet received any information about possible victims among the Moroccan community residing in Lebanon. No member of the embassy staff was injured in the explosion, the same source said.

On Tuesday, two powerful explosions occurred in the port sector of the Lebanese capital Beirut. According to the Lebanese Minister of Health, Hamad Hassan, the toll is 78 dead and 3,700 injured.
