Moroccan Woman Arrested for COVID-19 Vaccine Fraud Using Mother’s ID

Driven by the fear of coronavirus contamination, some Moroccans prefer to commit fraud to get vaccinated without being eligible. Not yet a priority, a woman benefited from her mother’s dose by pretending to be her at Dchira El Jihadia, located 10 km south of the city center of Agadir.
The preliminary data from the investigation opened in this context reveal that the person involved used her mother’s identity card to deceive the vigilance of the health agents at the Ahmed Behoui vaccination center.
She was reported by the elements of the local authorities present on the spot who discovered that she did not meet the required age and had fraudulently benefited from her mother’s dose.
An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to elucidate the ins and outs of this case and establish the legal consequences that arise from it.
Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, several people have been apprehended, mainly local officials or influential personalities.
