Moroccan Victims of Myanmar Labor Camp Scam Finally Freed

Eleven Moroccan nationals, victims of a vast employment fraud network, have finally regained their freedom after months of captivity in camps along the border between Thailand and Myanmar.
Attracted by dazzling promises of high salaries and jobs in e-commerce, these Moroccans, like thousands of other foreigners, fell into a trap. Instead of the modern offices promised, they were forced to work in inhumane conditions, exploited for online scams and extortion activities.
"It’s an immense relief," says Fadwa, the sister of one of the survivors, thanking the authorities and international organizations who have tirelessly worked for their release.
The families of the victims, while celebrating the return of their loved ones, remain mobilized. They intend to voice the plight of the other hostages still being held and shed light on the atrocities committed in these camps.
The eleven survivors, safe and sound in Thailand, are now awaiting their repatriation.
