Moroccan Universities to Join Israeli-Hosted Education Summit Near Tel Aviv

The Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is inviting university presidents to participate in a round table organized by an Israeli university.
Morocco and Israel are continuing their momentum in the education sector. The Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs has asked the Ministry of Education to invite university presidents from the kingdom to participate this month in a round table organized by the International Center for Israeli Diplomacy at Reichman University in Herzliya, near Tel Aviv, reports Middle East Monitor. During this meeting, which will be chaired by Ambassador Ron Prosor, director of the Abba Eban Institute for Diplomacy at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, the discussions will focus on the possibilities of cooperation between the two countries.
After the restoration of their relations, Morocco and Israel are working to develop their cooperation in several sectors, including education. Last March, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) of the Israeli Ministry of Defense adopted new rules concerning foreign professors and international students from countries with diplomatic relations with Israel, including the United Kingdom, the European Union, Jordan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Morocco, who will be welcomed in the Palestinian universities of the West Bank.
