Moroccan MP Under Investigation After Claims of Massive Cash and Gold Seizure

Following the publication of information relating to the seizure of "490 million dirhams" and 15 kg of gold at the home of the deputy of the Constitutional Union (UC), Driss Radi, the competent authorities and the judicial police services of Kénitra and Sidi Slimane have opened an investigation.
This information was published on a Facebook page last Friday. The day after its publication, the UC deputy filed a complaint with the public prosecutor at the court of first instance in Sidi Slimane.
In this publication accompanied by a photo montage, it was claimed that the police had seized the sum of 490 million dirhams and 15 kg of gold at the home of the deputy of the Cheval party, and that King Mohammed VI would follow the investigation opened to elucidate this case, reports Assabah.
Informed, the competent authorities of the city of Kénitra and the judicial police services conducted investigations which prove that the content of the "false and defamatory" publication was devoid of any foundation.
