Moroccan Tomato Industry Battles Persistent "Tuta Absoluta" Pest Infestation

The "Tuta Absoluta" virus continues to ravage Moroccan tomato crops, causing huge losses to producers. The latter are worried about this year’s production.
This virus appeared in Moroccan greenhouses since 2008. Despite the continuous efforts of tomato producers to contain it, it continues to destroy the harvests. In 2015, farmers recorded considerable losses due to this virus that particularly affects cherry tomato varieties.
