Moroccan Teachers in France Protest Delayed Administrative Leave Requests

Arabic and Moroccan culture teachers, working for the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Living Abroad, denounce the delay in processing their requests for "administrative leave".

Some teachers from the 2019 cohort in France had filed a request for "temporary work stoppage authorization", in accordance with a ministerial circular. But their request has remained unanswered, causing discontent and concerns in their ranks.

The teachers concerned are calling for the urgent intervention of the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports in this file. They are urging the competent authorities to accelerate the processing of their requests for administrative leave, stressing that "persistent delays are exacerbating their professional and family suffering, as the current situation threatens their social stability, particularly in cases related to critical health or school situations." The teachers are also calling for a revision of the decisions to terminate the functions of some of them, believing that "these decisions do not take into account the specifics of their situation and the exceptional circumstances."

"Such measures threaten their professional career, which they have built through many years of hard work in the service of the nation and the Moroccan community abroad," added the teachers who claim that "ensuring equal treatment with their colleagues who previously benefited from the same rights is an essential demand to achieve justice." The teachers concerned also expressed their "great surprise at the disparities in the application of the provisions of the same ministerial circular, noting that many colleagues in similar conditions have been able to obtain leave extensions without obstacles."
