Moroccan Teacher Sentenced to Prison for Beating 8-Year-Old Student in Taroudant

The court of first instance of Taroudant handed down its verdict on Monday, January 27, in the case of the 8-year-old girl, savagely beaten by her teacher.
The teacher, B. B., who firmly rejects any involvement in the case, was sentenced to 10 months in prison, 6 of which were firm and 4 suspended, along with a fine of 40,000 dirhams.
On the orders of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, an investigation was opened by the Royal Gendarmerie services, following the widespread dissemination on social networks of photos of the little girl. Both the parents and the teacher were subjected to a series of interrogations intended to determine the true perpetrator.
The two suspects rejected, on each other, the accusations of violence against the little girl who suffered serious complications to the face and eyes. However, the latter had pointed the finger at her teacher, claiming that it was not the first aggression.
