Moroccan Tax Official Flees to Europe After Alleged Fraud Scheme

An employee of the Tax Directorate in the city of Tetouan has fled after defrauding many taxpayers. She would be in a European country.
The employee was receiving money from citizens who trusted her, to deposit it, according to their statements, in the accounts of the directorate where she had been working for years, reports the site Rue20.
She made them believe that she could intervene on their behalf with the directorate to resolve their tax problems and pay their arrears. A pure scam. The employee of the Tax Directorate of Tetouan is also suspected of having directly misappropriated funds from the directorate’s budget.
After committing this offense, the person involved obtained a Schengen tourist visa and fled to Europe with the misappropriated money. A trip planned with the consent of her husband and children.
