Moroccan Study Reveals Low Trust in Parliament, Many Unaware of Its Role

At the initiative of the Heinrich Boll Foundation and the National Fund for Democracy, a study on the trust index and the quality of institutions was conducted by the Royal Institute for Strategic Studies.
The report, published annually by the Institute, aims to "create a discussion forum around the theme of trust in institutions in Morocco, and to provide decision-makers with proposals and advice to improve the basic rules likely to strengthen the climate of trust".
The report highlighted the weak relationship of trust between Moroccans and Parliament, with more than 63% not trusting this political institution. Even worse, the study revealed that 50% of Moroccans are unaware of the role of Parliament.
In response to the question about the name of the Speaker of the House, 10% of respondents gave a correct answer, while only 25% managed to name a member of parliament.
