20 Moroccan Students from Lydex Gain Admission to Prestigious École Polytechnique in Paris

After successfully passing the written and oral exams, students from the Mohammed VI Lycée d’Excellence de BenGuerir (Lydex) will fly to Paris, where they will join the École Polytechnique for the next academic year.
From 17 students initially, there are now 20 Moroccan students from Lydex who have succeeded in the written and oral exams of the École Polytechnique in Paris. Talking to the local press, the director of Lydex explained that the new high school graduates admitted to the preparatory class in BenGuerir are supervised from the first days within the establishment, until their departure. Discussing the selection process, he said that "social and geographical diversity is favored, with positive discrimination for students whose parents are in need." This is evidenced by the overwhelming majority of scholarship holders who, for the most part, are exempt from all tuition fees.
The establishment financed by the OCP foundation prepares students for the entrance exams of the grandes écoles d’ingénieurs, for two years. "The students not only receive high-level training with committed Moroccan teachers from the national education system, but are also coached to develop communication skills and gain confidence in oral expression," said the director of Lydex. According to the explanations of Taoufik Al Hakim, one of the laureates, the students train with their teachers as in any other preparatory class, but what again distinguishes Lydex is the organization of simulations with former examiners of the Paris Polytechnique entrance exams.
