Moroccan Students Clinch Gold at Pan-African Math Olympiad

A rewarding achievement. The Moroccan team has just won the gold medal at the 27th edition of the Pan-African Mathematics Olympiad held last week in South Africa.
In a press release, the Ministry of National Education is delighted with this feat, specifying that the Moroccan team, which consists of six students from the mathematics science section, French option, takes first place with 147 points, ahead of South Africa (142 points) and Tunisia (133 points).
In total, 62 students from about a dozen countries had taken part in these Olympiads, which were held in Cape Town, including Moroccan champion Marouane Chafi who won the gold medal.
As for the "Queen of African Mathematics 2019", the medal was awarded to the Moroccan El-Bouzaidi Tiali, while Ines El-Bouzaidi Tiali, Mariam El Khatri and Ziad Eddine Amzil finished the competition with the silver medal. The bronze goes to Khaoula El Maddah and Adam El Ouarghi, the ministry also said.
