Moroccan Student Wins Landmark $40,000 Lawsuit Against Education Ministry Over Exam Dispute

A first in Morocco. A high school senior has just won her lawsuit against the Ministry of National Education.
After a long legal battle that lasted nearly 4 years, a high school student from Taroudant has finally won the lawsuit against the Ministry of National Education.
Deprived of the make-up session by the correction commission, for having cheated during the English language exam, the young girl, enrolled in a high school in Taroudant, not having approved the sanction imposed on her, decided to bring the case to justice.
The judgment handed down at first instance was in favor of the urgent cancellation of the decision of the correction commission, pending the end of the trial. But the judge’s order was not taken into account by the Regional Academy, which persisted in depriving the high school student of her right.
Bearing her misfortune patiently, the young high school graduate entered into a long legal battle against the ministry’s delegation, which finally resulted, 4 years later, in a compensation of 400,000 dirhams in her favor.
