Moroccan Student Fined After Court Dismisses Sexual Harassment Case Against Professor

The court of first instance of Mohammedia acquitted the university professor prosecuted for sexual harassment against a master’s student. The alleged victim, the wife of a lawyer and mother of three children, was convicted.
The master’s student who had filed a complaint against a university professor for sexual harassment against his master’s students at the Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences in the city was sentenced to a fine of 20,000 dirhams, reports Al Massae. She must also pay compensation of 100,000 dirhams to the accused.
The complaint had been filed, through the former Casablanca Bar Association, Mohammed Hissi, with the public prosecutor’s office near the court of first instance of Mohammedia. The plaintiff and the accused were heard separately by the judicial police services of the city. Other master’s students were also heard. It appears that the facts attributed to the professor are in fact false.
The court rendered its verdict: the professor was acquitted.
