Moroccan Student Fined 5,000 Dirhams for Cheating on National Exam

Caught in the act of cheating on the baccalaureate exam, a high school student was sentenced to pay a fine of 5,000 dirhams. The verdict was handed down on Monday by the criminal chamber near the court of first instance in Al Hoceima.
Prosecuted at liberty, the high school student, from a small hamlet in the suburbs of Al Hoceima, was found guilty of fraud and cheating on the baccalaureate exams.
Avoiding a prison sentence, the Court nevertheless imposed a fine of 5,000 dirhams on the defendant and the seizure of her mobile phone.
To recall, the Ministry of the Interior had required candidates, before the exams were held, to sign a declaration stating that they were aware of the new anti-cheating measures.
