Moroccan Soccer Star Ziyech Slams Government, Voices Support for Palestine
The Moroccan midfielder of Galatasaray, Hakim Ziyech, reiterates his support for Palestine and does not hesitate to openly criticize the Moroccan government for its silence on the "genocide" underway in the Gaza Strip.
In a post on his Instagram account, Hakim Ziyech expressed his dismay after watching a video posted on social media showing Israeli soldiers shooting down a young Palestinian, before throwing his body off the roof of the building. "Let’s make one thing clear...!! To hell with Israel and all the countries that support this kind of behavior. Freedom for Palestine," demands the Galatasaray Moroccan midfielder.
The Moroccan international did not hesitate to openly criticize the Moroccan government for its silence on the "genocide" underway in the Gaza Strip. "My message is also for the Government of our own country that supports the genocide. Shame on you, enough is enough," he added.
Since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas, many Moroccans and political parties have expressed their support for Palestine and called on Morocco to cut ties with Tel Aviv as the kingdom had done in 2000 in reaction to Israel’s brutality during the second Intifada. Actions that Ziyech encourages. "And to my brothers and sisters in Morocco and around the world: keep your voices as loud as possible, I’m with you," he concluded.
