Moroccan Soccer Star Ziyech's Family Feud Erupts After Vogue Interview

Hakim Ziyech’s media outing in Vogue is causing a stir within his family. His older brother, Faouzi, has violently attacked him on social media.

"The older I got, the more I realized I would never have a father figure again," Hakim Ziyech told Vogue NI, the Dutch version of the famous magazine, recounting how he lost his father at the age of 10. In this interview, he would not have mentioned the role played by his older brother in his education after the death of their father. Enough to shock Faouzi Ziyech who did not hesitate to attack his brother in two posts on his Instagram page.

To read:

"First of all, mom didn’t have to raise 9 children as you say, only you were a child (11 years old), the others were 16, 18, 20, 22, 23, 27, 29 and some already had children. Your sister and I took care of the children’s education," Faouzi Ziyech corrects right away, before reminding the Chelsea offensive midfielder that it was he who sacrificed everything (including his family) for his future, his opportunities and his possibilities.

"You were the most carefree and spoiled of all (in the whole neighborhood). [...] Then I was the only one to make sure you joined a host family. Until your driver’s license, I picked you up halfway at the McDonald’s in Lelystad, Zwolle, and even Joure, so you’d still have something to do on the weekend, then no one was rushing to pick you up. If I really couldn’t, I gave you my car and my friend would take you and/or pick you up anywhere in the country," adds the older brother.

Faouzi drives the point home. "Anyway, the snus (moist tobacco powder placed between the gum and upper lip, ed.) not only affected your teeth, but also your memory," he writes in another post.
