Moroccan Soccer Clubs Face Sanctions for Fan Misconduct and Player Suspensions

Sanctions have been imposed on several clubs in Botola D1 and D2 by the Disciplinary Commission, due to the use of flares and the descent of supporters onto the playing area.

On its website, the sanctions have been revealed. Thus, several players in Botola 1 have been suspended. Hamza Moujahid, a player for AS FAR, is suspended for one match, following his dismissal during the match against Rapid club Oued Zem (RCOZ), according to article 2-53 of the Disciplinary Code.

Mohamed Akid, a RCOZ player, faces the same fate as the first, following his dismissal during the match against AS FAR, under article 2-53 of the Disciplinary Code.

As for Mehdi En Bassel, a Fath union sport (FUS) player, he is also suspended for one match, following his dismissal during the match against Olympique club de Khouribga (OCK), under article 2-53 of the Disciplinary Code.

In addition to the match suspensions, the Commission also imposed a fine of 20,000 dirhams against AS FAR for the use of flares during the match against RCOZ, under article 105 of the Disciplinary Code. The same club is also punished with a fine of 20,000 dirhams, following the arrival on the playing area of one of the club’s supporters during the match against RCOZ.

The OCK was also not spared by the sanctions. It was fined 20,000 dirhams for the use of flares by its supporters during the match against FUS.

In Botola2, Hamza Afssal, from Wydad athletic Fès (WAF) and Mohammed Anas Tagnaouti, a Racing club player, were suspended for one match, respectively, after their dismissal during the match against Chabab Mohammedia and during the match against Moghreb association sportive de Fès.

As for Chabab Mohammedia and WAF, they are punished with a fine of 15,000 dirhams, after the use of flares by their supporters during the match between the two clubs.

In addition to the 15,000 dirhams fine, WAF is sanctioned with a fine of 1,500 dirhams, following the four cautions against its players and an expulsion during the match against Chabab Mohamedia.

Following six cautions during the match against Union Sidi Kacem, KAC de Kenitra is fined 1,500 dirhams.

As for Wydad sportif de Témara (WST), it suffered the same fate after the five cautions given to its players, during the match against Chabab Rif Al Hoceima (CRA).
