A survey conducted by the Moroccan Confederation of VSEs-SMEs revealed that the two sectors most affected by the pandemic are business services and trade. They top the ranking with 21.9% and 20.6% respectively of a representative sample of 1,080 companies.
These two sectors are followed by industry, construction, communication and events, agriculture, tourism and crafts with 13.5%, 12.7%, 10.5%, 5.7%, 5.2% and 4.3% respectively, reports H24info which indicates that the study was conducted among ten sectors of activity, and that 83% of these companies are in total cessation of activity.
As for the structures most impacted by this health crisis, the survey indicates that VSEs, as well as auto-entrepreneurs, are the most affected by the epidemic with a rate of 90%. SMEs and cooperatives, on the other hand, have a respective rate of 8% and 2%.
According to the conclusion of the study, small structures, which have a low working capital, will be unable to manage this crisis over a long period.
