Moroccan Security Overhaul: Royal Palace Guards in Marrakech Dismissed

On the orders of the General Directorate of National Security, the Prefect of Police of Marrakech has dismissed all the officials and agents in charge of the surveillance and security of the residences and royal palaces.
Received by the Prefect of the city via the DGSN, the decision, the reasons for which have not been communicated, emanates, according to the site Rue20, from the high authorities in Rabat. All the personnel concerned will be assigned to other security services.
To this end, an administrative investigation will be opened by the DGSN services, in order to determine the responsibilities of each one as well as the disciplinary measures taken against them.
Last September, a dispute between the elements of the Royal Gendarmerie and those of the National Security had precipitated the royal decision to remove them from the surveillance and security of the residences and royal palaces.
