Moroccan Security Forces Thwart ISIS-Inspired Suicide Attack Plot in Salé

Elements of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) arrested a 33-year-old individual, an extremist and supporter of Daesh, this Tuesday, November 26, 2019. The arrest took place at his home in Salé as he was about to carry out a suicide attack.
Another attack thwarted by the elements of the DGST. The daily Assabah, relying on consistent sources, noted that the entourage of the accused did not realize that the latter had adopted the terrorist ideology of Daesh, to the point of planning terrorist acts.
The DGST, which was on the trail of the individual, finally carried out a raid at his home on Tuesday to prevent him from carrying out the terrorist act. According to the newspaper, several electronic equipment that were to be used to carry out the suspect’s terrorist projects were seized. These include bladed weapons, computers, and cell phones.
Indeed, the inspection of one of the seized computers allowed the investigators to become aware of the digital traces of his projects. Jihadist websites that the accused regularly visited to imbibe the jihadist ideology and learn to make explosives were also identified.
According to the initial elements of the investigation, the individual, who had adopted the modus operandi of the "lone wolves", was in contact with Daesh leaders abroad and was about to carry out a suicide attack in Morocco, the same source indicates.
