Moroccan Scientist Wins Arab Investor Award for Green Technology Research

The Arab Investor Award, the prize that rewards exceptional individual and corporate performance in the field of sustainable investment, was awarded this year to the Moroccan Professor, Rachid Yazami, in the "Green Application" category, in recognition of his scientific research and inventions.
The Prize is an initiative of the International Arab Investors Forum (FIIA) whose objective is to support and strengthen investments in the regions of the Middle East and Africa.
The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in the presence of personalities from the world of business, scientific research and diplomacy.
Rachid Yazami is the author of several revolutionary discoveries. For example, the newspaper cites his work on lithium batteries, which earned him the prestigious Draper Prize, the equivalent of the Nobel Prize for engineers.
The Prize aims to encourage future investments and innovations in the Arab world and beyond. In a statement to the MAP, Rachid Yazami expressed "his great joy" at receiving this Prize which "honors his modest person, but which above all honors Morocco".
The International Arab Investors Forum (FIIA), which is held every year, aims to deliver a message, "that of telling the Arab world that it is time to take charge and catch up on years, even centuries of delay," said Professor Yazami, adding that "it is only through education and the implementation of common means that we can restore the luster of the Arab world and Arabs in general".
The International Arab Investors Forum chose Paris, the City of Light and a bridge between Arab and Western civilizations, to hold its first international edition on Wednesday, September 18, still at the UNESCO headquarters.
Even though it did not receive a prize, the Moroccan company Pharma5, a specialist in generic drugs, was nevertheless a finalist in three categories of the Prize in the categories: "Investment Impact", "Social and Environmental Responsibility", and "Gender Equality". And, like Pharma5’s production, many other companies, in the agri-food and tourism sectors, participated and did not disappoint.
