Moroccan School Controversy: Student Expelled After Altercation with Ambassador’s Son

A private educational institution in Rabat would have expelled a 15-year-old Moroccan student for fighting with a classmate who happens to be the son of the Portuguese ambassador to the kingdom.
In a statement to the Al3omk website, the father of the Moroccan student explains that the institution refused access to his son on Monday, after he had argued on Friday with his classmate, the son of the Portuguese ambassador, who had repeatedly hurled "humiliating and degrading insults, damaging his honor". The father adds that in the face of the situation, he has called on the services of a lawyer and a bailiff. It was then that the institution notified him of the decision to expel his son.
The parent specifies that he was summoned by the administration of the institution on Friday after the fight occurred to inform him of this incident and the decision to expel his son. "The administration informed me of the expulsion decision, claiming to apply the law, while I see that there is selectivity in the application and discrimination. Why wasn’t the ambassador’s son punished since he was the origin of the fight, and why weren’t the other students who filmed the fight punished when the institution’s internal regulations prohibit the introduction of phones?" reacted the student’s father.
This expulsion decision, four months before the end of the school year, puts his son in a difficult situation, laments the father, noting that the latter is in the third preparatory class and must take his exam.
