Moroccan Rights Group Proposes Castration for Sex Offenders Amid Rising Rape Cases

Cases of rape are multiplying in Ouazzane. Faced with this painful situation for the families of the victims, it is the Regional Office of the Moroccan League of Human Rights (LMDH) that has taken the lead, proposing the "surgical castration" of criminals.
This proposal from the Regional Office of the Moroccan League of Human Rights is based on the extent of the phenomenon in the region, and in particular on the work carried out by its section in Ouazzane, reports Hespress.
Indeed, in this locality, a resident of the Aghbalou douar, in the commune of Teroual (province of Ouazzane), reported the rape of his 5-year-old daughter by his aunt’s 45-year-old husband, the father of two children.
This incident, according to the LMDH, occurred on Tuesday, August 20, when the victim was at her grandfather’s house with her sister in the Ain Harrach douar (rural commune of Zoumi), specifies the same media.
According to the confidences of the victim’s father who contacted the associative actors, his brother-in-law would have abused his trust, to commit this ignoble act on the little girl. It is therefore on his return home and following the account of his wife that he decided to file a complaint against the criminal at the gendarmerie station.
A doctor from the Ouazzane Regional Hospital who examined the 5-year-old girl on Thursday, August 22, confirmed the facts and issued a medical certificate to that effect. However, curiously, "the rapist has not yet been arrested to answer the accusations against him," the victim’s father indignantly.
