Moroccan Retail Giant Label’Vie Expands to France, Takes Over Four Carrefour Stores

Label’Vie, a Moroccan retail group, has taken over the management of four Carrefour hypermarkets - three in Marseille and the region, and one in Grenoble with a little over 1,200 employees - in France. What about its ambitions in the Hexagon?
"This operation is part of our strategic plan for geographic expansion. Carrefour has been our reference partner for over twelve years. We therefore initiated discussions about our development possibilities in France, and saw how these could fit into the transformation plan initiated by the Carrefour group. This lease-management operation therefore comes to accelerate the realization of important projects for our two groups," said Brahim Lemseffer, Deputy Managing Director of Retail Holding, the subsidiary that carries Label’Vie’s French activities, in an interview with Médias24.
According to his explanations, this operation consists in the management of the business funds of struggling stores for proximity management, in order to respond more effectively to the specific needs of customers and return to growth. "This model also guarantees Carrefour the respect of the charters and concepts in force within the stores," he added.
Label’Vie dreams big. "We plan to take over two more hypermarkets in the coming months, in Vitrolles (Marseille region) and Aulnay-sous-Bois (Paris region), for about 850 additional direct jobs," reveals Brahim Lemseffer.
