Moroccan Researcher Claims Antibiotic-Eucalyptus Treatment Could Combat Coronavirus

Adnane Ramal, a Moroccan specialist in the pharmacology of antibiotics, announced that he has developed, since 2006, a treatment against resistant bacteria, capable of acting on the coronavirus.
In a statement to the daily Alayam, the specialist in studies of chemical complexes with therapeutic effect, announced that "the treatment was to be approved by the Ministry of Health in early April, in order to be produced by a local company."
A major antibacterial, the drug is associated with an essential oil extracted from the Eucalyptus tree, Eucalyptul, thus allowing to control the immune system’s response. Sold in the form of capsules in Germany, Eucalyptul is administered to people suffering from chronic respiratory diseases.
"Eucalyptul has the potential to strengthen the action of antibiotics, and its effectiveness with chloroquine and antivirals has been proven in many scientific studies," he said.
Laureate of the African Creation Awards in 2015, and the European Creator in 2017, following work on strengthening the action of antibiotics to fight resistant bacteria, Adnane Ramal is, at 57, a professor of pharmacology at the University Sidi Mohammed ben Abdellah in Fez.
