Moroccan Radio Study: Religious Station Tops Ratings, Listeners Average Nearly 3 Hours Daily

At what frequency do Moroccans listen to the radio and which age groups are still interested in radio programs? The latest Radiometry Morocco report looked at this issue as well as audience shares in the last quarter of 2022.
A Moroccan listener listens to the radio for an average of 2 hours and 52 minutes per day, according to the report, which only covers the last three months of last year. The document specifies that in terms of audience, it is the city of Rabat that is in the lead with 60% coverage rate. The Mohammed VI Radio of the Holy Quran remains the leader with 14.95% of the audience share. It is followed by Med Radio with 12.56% and Hit Radio with 9.93%.
As for the listeners who listen to the radio, they are 11 years old and older and are more concentrated in Rabat with 60% coverage. In Fez, this rate is 57.7% and in Casablanca, 57.9%. Listeners prefer the mid-day and afternoon programs. The time slot between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., long prized by listeners, could give way to the one between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m.
