Moroccan Radio Host Suspended for Sexist Remarks About Female Soccer Fan

Adil El Omari, host of a show on the airwaves of Radio Mars, famous for his often misogynistic remarks, was suspended from his duties for three days. He had made sexist and virulent remarks against a radio listener.
In the show "The Scholars of Mars", the host’s remarks provoked an outcry among listeners who did not appreciate his interventions or their misogynistic content. In response to a message from a listener who gave her opinion on the performance of the Atlas Lions, the host launched: "Take care of the kitchen, or go watch "Choumicha" and leave the football to the connoisseurs", before adding: "Morocco doesn’t need you to support it".
Considered too violent, racist and sexist, the host’s remarks, who is no stranger to media slips, had unfavorable echoes with the public. Reacting to this intervention, the CEO of Radio Mars, Hicham El Khlifi, considered the remarks "unacceptable and intolerable", and decided to suspend the presenter for three days.
On the other hand, the host eventually apologized on the radio station’s airwaves, without however acknowledging his mistake. He declared: "If the Moroccan woman considered my remarks completely degrading to her, then I apologize to her." In a statement, Radio Mars reiterated its apologies to its listeners and officially announced the suspension of the host for three days.
