Moroccan Prison Denies Reports of Hirak Detainee Hunger Strike in Tangier

In reaction to allegations about a hunger strike by 14 Hirak detainees in Al Hoceima, the administration of the local Tanger II prison has provided a formal denial.
The allegations are "false" and "unfounded", the administration of the Tanger 2 local prison said in a statement. It states that these detainees regularly receive their meals and have never reported a hunger strike.
This clarification is in line with the interaction of the administration of this penitentiary establishment and the public opinion regarding the information relayed by some electronic sites and by associations claiming to defend the Hirak detainees of Al Hoceima, it is specified.
The same source noted that the publications of these associations are not intended to defend the detainees. On the contrary, they encourage them to resolutely engage in a hunger strike, for personal and private purposes.
