Moroccan Political Pioneer Mahjoubi Aherdan Dies; King Mohammed VI Offers Condolences

Mohammed VI sent a message of condolence and compassion to the members of the family of the late Mahjoubi Aherdan, honorary president and founding leader of the Party of the Popular Movement. He passed away on Sunday morning.
In his message of condolence, the King states that he learned with sadness the news of the passing of the late Mahjoubi Aherdan, imploring the Almighty to welcome him among his virtuous servants. Mohammed VI expressed to the members of the deceased’s family, and to his large national political family, in particular, the Party of the Popular Movement, and to all his friends, his deepest condolences and sincere compassion, following this painful loss.
He says he remembers a patriot who put his high qualities and his firm attachment to the constants and sacred values of the Ummah and unwavering loyalty to the Glorious Alaouite Throne at the service of his country. The late Mahjoubi Aherdan served his country with faith and selflessness, and demonstrated a sincere commitment to the resistance to occupation and the defense of Morocco’s independence and territorial integrity. It is in the same spirit that he took care of the various high governmental responsibilities, reports the MAP.
With the passing of Mahjoubi Aherdan, one of the guardians of Morocco’s ancestral history has gone. Sharing the feelings of the family members, the King implores the Most High to grant them patience and comfort and to amply reward the deceased for the great sacrifices and services rendered to his homeland and to accept him in his vast paradise among the virtuous and the martyrs, specifies the same source.
