Moroccan Police Seize 700 Kilos of Cannabis in Tangier, Arrest Seven Suspects

Nearly 700 kilos of cannabis resin were seized by the police services of the city of Tangier. This operation carried out this Tuesday morning led to the arrest of seven individuals.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) reports that these arrests are part of the investigation that began on March 4 following the seizure on one of the beaches of Assilah of nearly 4 tons of drugs that were to be transported by sea to Europe.
In addition to this quantity of chira, the police also seized 11 mobile phones, packaging and packaging equipment and a sum of 100,000 dirhams from criminal activity, it is specified.
According to the investigators, the criminal network used new methods consisting of packing the drugs in maritime signaling balloons before transporting them on board fishing boats, attaching them with ropes and transmitting their coordinates to European criminal networks.
