Moroccan Police Officers Arrested in Public Funds Embezzlement Probe

Three police officers were arrested as part of an investigation led by the National Office for the Fight against Economic and Financial Delinquency. They are suspected of misappropriation and embezzlement of public funds.
These accusations come after an internal audit conducted by the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) within the cavalry school. The results revealed financial irregularities as well as suspicions of fraud in public procurement, leading to the suspension of the former director of the school, also a general controller. He is the subject of a judicial investigation, along with seven other suspects, including five business leaders, suspected of being accomplices.
All the persons referred to the public prosecutor’s office have been placed in detention, with the exception of one woman who has been placed under judicial supervision.
