Moroccan Police Officers Arrested in 600-Kilo Hashish Smuggling Operation

The investigation opened by the Moroccan authorities after the arrest by the Civil Guard of two citizens of Ceuta, in possession of about 600 kilos of hashish hidden in a "Phantom" speedboat with Moroccan registration, revealed the involvement of security agents, police officers and officials in this drug trafficking.
After the arrest of the two suspects, they were presented to the competent judge who ordered their placement in pre-trial detention. Meanwhile, the investigation is ongoing in Morocco and has led to the arrest on September 4 of 7 other people, including 5 security agents stationed at the port of Kébila, the place of origin of the boat, and two brothers, port employees.
Two police officers have also been suspended due to their alleged link to this criminal network, says El Pueblo de Ceuta, specifying from a source close to the case that the suspects, after being questioned by the Royal Gendarmerie, finally admitted the involvement of the agents on duty at the port who did not carry out any control of the "Marina K" boat as it was about to leave the port, loaded with hashish.
One of them confessed that on August 5 and 7, he had facilitated access to the port area of a Dacia Dokker vehicle, driven by one of the two Ceuta citizens arrested on August 9 and in which there was a person he admits not knowing. The investigators suspect that it could be the so-called "The Dutchman", arrested in mid-August in Morocco. The latter actually admitted after his arrest that he had gone to Morocco on the same dates for personal and medical reasons. However, the images from the cameras in the port of Kébila show that he carried out activities related to drug trafficking.
The investigation has helped dismantle a large hashish trafficking network. Due to the alleged involvement of the police, the prosecutor of the province of Tétouan has given firm instructions to the judicial police of the royal gendarmerie of Rabat to carry out the investigation to the end.
