Moroccan Police Officer Arrested in 962kg Cannabis Trafficking Bust

A police sergeant stationed at the regional security department of Al Hoceima was arrested by elements of the regional police service. He would be involved in a case of attempted trafficking of 962 kilograms of cannabis resin.
In a statement, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the judicial police elements of Al Hoceima had caught, last Wednesday, an individual in the act of trafficking a large drug shipment weighing 962 kg.
The goods were in a utility vehicle. The investigation and searches carried out, following this arrest, revealed the alleged complicity of the police officer. He was immediately apprehended, the DGSN specifies.
Pending the determination of their degree of involvement in this case, the police sergeant and the driver of the utility vehicle were taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing to identify all the people involved in these activities, as well as the possible ramifications and links of this network at the national and international levels.
