Moroccan Police Hunt Gang After Livestock Merchant Kidnapped Near Tetouan

In Tetouan, the elements of the police and the royal gendarmerie forces are mobilizing to arrest the members of a gang active on the national road 16, in the vicinity of Oued Laou. They are behind the kidnapping of a livestock merchant.
While he was on his way to the weekly market in Oued Laou, a livestock merchant from the village of Amsa in the province of Tetouan was kidnapped during the early hours of Saturday, February 3, by hooded individuals. He told the security forces that they had tricked him by claiming to be ready to transport him to the Oued Laou livestock market. They then tied him up and stripped him of 5,000 dirhams before throwing him into a ditch by the side of the road near the village of Tambrabet.
The victim recounts having remained in the ditch for about 10 hours, trying to crawl towards the road. The merchant managed to get out of the ditch and lie down by the side of the road. He says he had a very difficult night that will end when one of his acquaintances recognized him. Admitted to the Saniat Rmel provincial hospital in Tetouan, he received the necessary care there.
Currently, the security services of the city and the province are conducting investigations under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office to find the perpetrators.
